My name is Laird Logan Howard, known in the digital sphere by the nom de plume Wraith of Thavalon (formerly Tired Virgo Art). I am a graduate of the Maine College of Art, having completed my formal instruction and bachelors in the year of 2022, with a concentration in the noble discipline of Illustration

 

My work is chiefly concerned with sequential narrative, character design, dust-jacket & novel design, and the art of visual storytelling. I have, on occasion, lent my hand to the realms of editorial illustration and conceptual artistry, though my heart remains ever faithful to the interplay of character and tale

Beyond the studio, I hold a longstanding affection for historical inquiry, particularly the finer points of material culture and period accuracy. I delight in lengthy, hand-stitched sewing ventures, poetic composition, and the animated rendering of subtle gestures and expressions, ever in pursuit of breathing life into still form

Above all, I strive for historical fidelity, scholarly curiosity, and thoughtful craftsmanship in all that I undertake; whether upon parchment, fabric, or frame
